4AD: Future Islands release ‘Road Dawgs’ documentary
WATCH FUTURE ISLANDS FILM ‘ROAD DAWGS’
Capping off a sensational year for the Baltimore three-piece, Future Islands have aired a new documentary, shot by Jay Buim.
Road Dawgs follows the band across 2014, as the group address the critical and popular success of their debut 4AD record Singles which was released in March, along with their maiden television performances and famously extensive gig schedule. Examining the close bond they share with their fans, and the raw live sets by which they’ve made their name, the short film features candid interview with Future Islands, plus exclusive live footage from a hometown set in Baltimore earlier in the year.
The film was produced and directed by Jay Buim, who was also responsible for the official ‘Seasons (Waiting On You)’ video. The song has now been awarded the Best Track of the Year accolade from an astonishing eight publications: Pitchfork, The Guardian, NME, Time Out, The Line Of Best Fit, Spin and Consequence of Sound

Gerrit Welmers, Samuel T. Herring and William Cashion return to the UK in March. They will be Noel Gallagher’s special guests for the Teenage Cancer Trust event at the Royal Albert Hall on March 28th, afterwards the trio will headline Sheffield’s Plug and two sold-out nights at London’s Roundhouse.
