A Sight For Sewn Eyes, known for their rabid tenacity, unrelenting technical prowess and head-turning performances, is made up of Andrew Benoit (Guitar/Vocals), Benjamin H Leathem (Drums), Johnny Walsh (Guitar), Ernest Brennan (Bass) and Joshua Hanusiak (Vocals). The Halifax quintet formed in 2005 and has been touring non-stop ever since, sharing stages with the likes of Cancer Bats, 3 Inches of Blood, Dead and Divine, and Counterparts.
On signing with Distort, lead vocalist Joshua Hanusiak had this to say, “Being on Distort is amazing! We’re really excited to be alongside such incredible bands like Cancer Bats, Comeback Kid and Periphery. Everyone at Distort is unreal and great to work with.”
A Sight For Sewn Eyes, who recently released a four-song EP ‘Nonsense’ via iTunes, will be heading back into the studio this winter to record the follow-up to their 2010 self-released long-player debut ‘Foes’. The bands sophomore effort will be recorded in Brampton, ON at BWC Studios and produced by Greg Dawson (Moneen, The End). The album will be released via Distort in Summer 2012.
“I have had the pleasure of watching the band grow over the past few years to become who they are today,” says Distort’s A&R Rep Rich Fernandes. “I’m so excited to work with them on so many levels. The new record is going to crush everything.”
A Sight For Sewn Eyes is currently embarking on a headlining tour across Ontario and Quebec with Guelph Punk band Life Story Monologue and Toronto’s Bare Bones.
