NEW YORK, NY (MAY 15, 2026) – Today, critically acclaimed singer-songwriter and instrumentalist, Patrick Grossi, widely known as ACTIVE CHILD, releases his new self-titled album on Sony Music Masterworks. Co-produced with Alex Goose (Kali Uchis, Childish Gambino, Vince Staples), ACTIVE CHILD’S fourth album is his most personal and introspective work yet. Spanning 12 tracks, the LP unfolds as a vivid chronicle of Grossi’s creative evolution over the past five years. Woven together by a recurring motif of identity, the artist and the father become refractions of one another. See the full track listing below and LISTEN HERE.

Coinciding with today’s album release is the official music video for the focus track “Fault of God,” directed by Grossi’s creative collaborator, Keegan James Hurley – WATCH HERE.The video integrates a whirlwind of archival footage inspired by the cultural upheaval of the 1960s in an attempt to unravel the human experience. These fleeting moments serve as a mirror as Active Child reflects on the beauty and horror of it all.

Of “Fault of God,” ACTIVE CHILD explains:

“My creative heart has always been about chasing and touching the unknown, a search for spirit via sound. ‘Fault of God’ is a great representation of that romantic aspiration and is why I chose it to accompany the album release.”

On his new self-titled album, ACTIVE CHILD invites listeners into his inner world. The musician’s artistic myth gives way to the emotional weight of adulthood, tracing the fault lines between devotion and responsibility, solitude and love, and revealing how fatherhood has reshaped his life and his creative process. Tender, restrained, and deeply human, the album doesn’t seek resolution but truth, capturing the beauty and tension of learning how to live and make honest art amid contradiction.

“Pursuing art feels less romantic and more chaotic as I age,” ACTIVE CHILD notes. “It demands a selfish, often solitary lifestyle that can feel at odds with being a father. It’s produced a schism within me. A divide that requires me to bend the truth to make myself and others feel safe. You speak half-truths to insulate yourself from life’s unknowns. You become a protector.”

With unflinching honesty and poetic vulnerability, ACTIVE CHILD’s latest album stands as a testament to the complex beauty of embracing change and the courageous act of making art from the heart’s most uncertain places. The new album, ACTIVE CHILD, is available everywhere now.
