During a turbulent few weeks for America and the wider world, French-Caribbean singer Adeline (pronounced ad-uh-leen) has thrown herself fully into the Black Lives Matters movement.
Standing shoulder to shoulder with millions of others in the fight against racism, Adeline has taken to the streets of New York to passionately protest and perform. As a Black Parisienne living in Brooklyn, the prejudices brought to light in recent days have cut deeply, with the artist discussing her own experiences and much more in a recent appearance on the Twisted Times podcast.

Adeline’s new EP, Intérimes, was initially set for release on June 12, but she paused the release to make room for other voices during this time of radical change. The new release date for Intérimes is July 10th. In the meantime, Adeline’s #TwilightChallenge EP will be released on Bandcamp on Juneteenth (June 19th) as a celebration of Black Culture and to support the Black Lives Matter Movement. Featuring 7 artists of color from all over the world, the EP features Adeline’s 5 favorite selections from her recent #TwilightChallenge call to action fan competition, in which she invited fans to make new versions of her song “Twilight” using the instrumental version of the track. The EP release will be part of Bandcamp’s Juneteenth fundraiser, with all donations received by Adeline going to Until Freedom, an intersectional social justice organization rooted in the leadership of diverse people of color to address systemic and racial injustice, and all Bandcamp proceeds going to the NAACP. Jonathan Singletary Brooklyn-based musician Jonathan Singletary is a multifaceted artist, songwriter, and instrumentalist who blends the R&B, soul, and hip hop that raised him to dive into honest explorations of love and the pursuit of freedom. A co-writer on Adeline’s original Twilight and frequent collaborator with the Night Shade production duo, we can expect a lot more from Jonathan this year. LiskoRapper from Nancy France with a jazzy flow, Lisko is kind of a “professor of good vibes” whose punchlines can quench the thirst of all lovers of beautiful rimes. Syndee Winters + Paze InfiniteSinger/ Songwriter Syndee Winters’ career stretches from Penning songs to starting as Nala in The Lion King on Broadway. Producer, beat maker, lyricist and visionary with his eyes on the future, Paze Infinite is equally adept at producing radio ready beats for singers and rappers, penning poignant lyrics as a ghostwriter and spitting rap lyrics at a high level. Vilda RayVilda Ray is a songwriter/producer/artist specializing in music to make your body swerve or leave you teary eyed.
Lucas Afonso + Roberta Estrela D’AlvaLucas Afonso is a poet, MC, art educator, founder and host of poetry slam “Slam da Ponta”, champion of SLAM BR (Brazilian National Slam) and brazilian representative in the Poetry Slam World Cup in France, 2016. Roberta Estrela D’Alva is an actress-MC, activist, director, researcher and spoken word artist. Founder member of “Núcleo Bartolomeu de Depoimentos” first hip-hop theater company in Brazil and pioneer of brazilian poetry slam.

Since leaving her post as lead singer of nu-disco outfit Escort, Adeline is quickly proving herself to be one of the hardest working women in music. A prolific singer, songwriter, and bass player who produces her own music (with co-producer Morgan Wiley), she is “never not working”. With her intoxicating voice, head spinning compositions, funky bass playing and daring personal style, her hypnotic live shows are captivating. Adeline’s critically acclaimed self-titled debut album garnered praise from Vogue, NPR, Refinery 29, Rolling Stone, The Fader and many others. She has toured globally, sharing the stage with such notables as Anderson .Paak, Lee Fields, Chromeo, Big Freeda and Natalie Prass, as well as making recent appearances at Afropunk, Funk on the Rocks (Red Rocks) and Winter Jazz Fest. When she’s not making and touring her own music, Adeline plays bass in CeeLo Green’s touring band.
