Alabama 3 – New Album & 20th Anniversary Tour

TWENTY YEARS AND STILL STANDING

NEW ALBUM AND TOUR ANNOUNCED – AUTUMN 2016

Alabama 3 are set to release brand new album entitled ‘Blues’ on Hostage Music to coincide with a UK and Irish Tour to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the band’s formation.

The eleven-date tour, which includes a London show at Shepherds Bush Empire on the 3rd of December, kicks off at the Limelight in Belfast on the 11th of November and finishes up in Glasgow at the O2 ABC on the 10th of December 2016.

‘Blues’, released on CD, vinyl and available to download, is their thirteenth long player and was recorded and co-produced with Wizard (Chemical Brothers, Dizzee Rascal, X-Press 2, Wiley, DJ Fresh, M.I.A./Diplo, Chase & Status) at Dean Street Studios. The ten tracks here are full of their trademark chain gang clarion calls, bittersweet dope laments, sleazy whiskey rhythms, wailing harmonicas and the obligatory Delta slide. Possibly their most complete and finest album to date, this is essentially a straight up Rock’n’Roll record and is all the better for it!

After two glorious decades, the Alabama 3 line up of Larry Love (lead vocals), Rev. D Wayne Love (vocals), Rock Freebase (Guitar), Stevie Nicked (Guitar), Wizard (Decks), L.B. Dope (Drums), Rev Be Atwell (Backing Vocals), The Spirit Of Love (Keyboards) and Harpo Strangelove (Harmonica) are as relevant as they were when they formed in Brixton and set about crafting their groundbreaking debut album  ‘Exile On Coldharbour Lane’. They’ve since released a string of genre defying albums and have continued to thrill audiences all over the world while many of their contemporary’s have imploded or simply disappeared.

Pills and Blues. B.B. King, Hank Williams, Bobby Rush, Rosco Gordon, Howlin’ Wolf, Ma Rainey and Fats Domino. American record deals, theme tunes to hit TV series, BAFTA awards and the departure and re-entry of more members than any band should ever carry. Twenty years and still standing, Alabama 3 are still without doubt one of the most enduring and important bands around.
