ALABAMA 3 SET FOR DECEMBER UK TOUR

“The best live band in the country” The Guardian
2013 finds Alabama 3 in a sombre and reflective mood as they announce their next UK tour in December 2013, the week after James Gandolfini has died.  “Woke Up This Morning” is inseparable from The Sopranos as it grew into the nation’s consciousness and hearts along with the series.

As Bob Lefetz observes :
“I was immediately struck by “Woke Up This Morning.” And when I heard it at the beginning of “The Sopranos”… It’s the one intro I never fast-forwarded through, it was a prelude to my Sunday night ritual.”

They may look like a novelty act, but there is grit and musicianship behind that whisky-soaked aviator-clad facade.

Are they the best live band in the country? Very probably. Certainly, when it comes to putting on a show few bands come close.’

After the shortest of breaks to regroup and draw breath, the band are back in the studio working on material for their next album.  The Reverend D Wayne Love, the band’s iconic rapper and spiritual leader, has let it be known that at the moment they are revisiting and reimagining their roots in techno music.  We eagerly await the results …

Much as they love being locked down in the studio creating new sounds, Alabama 3 live and breathe for live performance and can’t wait to get back out there, performing live in front of their fans and followers, old and new.
