Alanis Morissette UK dates

Alanis_11a_menuAlanis Morissette has announced her firstUK dates in four years coming to Birmingham, Manchester and London, in support of the summer release of her first new album in over 3 years.

Alanis_Morissette-promo_11aSince 1995 Alanis Morissette has been one of the most influential female rock musicians in contemporary music, selling over 60 million albums.  Her deeply expressive music and performances have earned vast critical praise, as well as 12 Canadian Juno Awards and 7 Grammy® Awards (with an additional 14 nominations).

Morissette’s 1995 debut, “Jagged Little Pill,” was followed by such eclectic and acclaimed albums as “Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie” (1998), “MTV Unplugged” (1999), “Under Rug Swept” (2002), “So-Called Chaos” (2004), “Jagged Little Pill Acoustic” (2005), her greatest hits album, “The Collection” (2005), “Flavors Of Entanglement”(2008), as well as musical contributions to theatrical releases.

Alanis will play the following dates this June:

Serving as her newest sherpa guide is British electronica producer Guy Sigsworth (Björk, Imogen Heap), who co-wrote and produced the album with Morissette. Nearly two dozen songs were born from writing sessions in London and Los Angeles, a baker’s dozen selected for the final cut of Flavors of Entanglement. While hewing to a familiar process – creating songs as snapshots of her life – Morissette found cathartic support during a big transition in her life. “I often write in retrospect, but this time all was written in real time,” she says. “This record helped me through some fragile moments. Every song was like a life raft.”Serving as her newest sherpa guide is British electronica producer Guy Sigsworth (Björk, Imogen Heap), who co-wrote and produced the album with Morissette.
