Aldous Harding by Kate Meakin

“Harding remains a songwriting provocateur, preternaturally disciplined, but able to trip emotional wires you might not even know you had.” – MOJO’s Album of the Month ****

“Aldous Harding’s voice contains multitudes, and you can never predict which character you’re going to get… An essential listen.” – Uncut, 8/10

Ahead of new album, Train On The Island, launching this Friday, Aldous Harding releases a third and final single today. Album closer ‘Coats’ serves as another preview of the New Zealander’s fifth studio record, following early singles ‘Venus In The Zinnea’ and ‘One Stop’. In addition, the “indie Moriarty and master of disguise,” (MOJO) adds southern hemisphere dates to her growing headline tour.

The 10-track Train On The Island was co-produced by long-time collaborator John Parish (PJ Harvey, Dry Cleaning) at Rockfield Studios in Monmouth, Wales, where the pair recorded the New Zealander’s previous bodies of work, Party (2017), Designer (2019) and Warm Chris (2022). Joining Harding and Parish on Train On The Island were pedal steel player Joe Harvey-Whyte, harpist Mali Llywelyn, synth artist Thomas Poli, drummer Sebastian Rochford (Polar Bear) and Huw Evans (H. Hawkline) on bass, vocals, acoustic/electric guitar and organ.

To celebrate Train On The Island, Harding’s first headline shows since 2023 will kick off during album release week. Today she announces dates in Australia and her native New Zealand, adding to UK, European and US tour dates.
