“Yes Men” is the biting follow up to Klein’s lead folk single “American City,” and promises that Fire is aptly titled.”
“It’s raw, catchy indie rock songwriting that fans of PJ Harvey or Liz Phair may dig.”
“an act of uplifting defiance”
“Ms. Klein is a warm and curious songwriter, and her solo work is refreshingly dynamic.”
– The New York Times
“… lyricism that locks Klein in step with the Springsteens and Youngs of the world as she tells tales of the hopes and failures structured into the American dream.”
– Consequence of Sound
On the heels of the release of her critically debut solo venture Fire via Don Giovanni Records, lauded poet and songwriter Amy Klein has kicked off a national tour which includes a special album release show at Silent Barn in Brooklyn tomorrow night. In celebration, she reveals the stirring video for stand-out album title track “Fire” via BrooklynVegan today.
With one foot firmly rooted in perfect punk prose and the other in lush melody, Klein has cut her teeth in fantastic bands such as Titus Andronicus, Leda and Hilly Eye. In addition to Amy on guitar and vocals, Klein’s live band includes Colin Brooks (The New Same, Sea Ray) on drums, Christian Bongers (Hurricane Bells) on bass, and Jeremy Wilms (King Mono, Holly Miranda) on guitar and keys. Make sure to catch them live in a city near you!
