“Warm, reflective and catchy-as-sin ‘Take Care’ is gorgeous ode to friendship and camaraderie” – UPSET MAGAZINE

Formed in the spring of 2012, Phoenix, AZ emo quartet MERIT are set to release their awesome new EP ‘The Comfort And The Confusion’ via North East label ‘Boom Blast Records’ on the 11th March 2016.

Following the release of their debut EP ‘The Truth About The Twenties’ in 2013 the band have toured the states extensively including shows with the likes of Joyce Manor, Touche Amore, Pity Sex, Into It. Over It and I Call Fives and released multiple EPs, including ‘The End Of Everything’ on UK based label ‘Boom Blast Records’ in 2015.

Wearing it’s influences proudly on it’s sleeve ‘The Comfort And The Confusion’ gives a nostalgic nod to the likes of The Promise Ring, The Get Up Kids and Jimmy Eat World, whilst leaving a personal stamp on a genre that has seen a massive revival in the last few years.

Speaking of the release the band said “The Comfort and the Confusion represents the stage where this new experience isn’t so new anymore and is getting a little stale. It’s easy sometimes to lose appreciation for something when you’re maybe taking it a little for granted“.

Currently writing their debut full length and booking a March tour, the band is set for another massive year in 2016.
