Speaking on the video Art School Girlfriend said:
“At night, it feels like you can express yourself and interact with people in a way that daytime doesn’t allow, or if you avoid the light, you can simply move through the world unseen. I wanted the video to explore this whilst also subverting gender norms by creating The Moonlight Working Women’s Club.”
Originally from North Wales, she decamped to London for five years where she fronted a shoegaze band before settling in Margate, Kent. Opting for the new moniker ‘Art School Girlfriend’, her self-produced tracks explore themes of queer identity, lust and disillusionment. Having released critically acclaimed debut EP ‘Measures’ earlier this year, ‘Moon’ is a taste of what’s to come taken of her second EP due for release later this summer.
