new album – Islands – out 18.05.18 via Infectious
UK live dates including Live at Leeds & Autumn tour

ASH are sharing the new video for their latest, 6Music play-listed single Annabel, which is lifted from the forthcoming album Islands, released 18th May through their newly cemented return to original home, Infectious Music. Watch here

Directed by Luc Janin, the new film for Annabel pitches the soaring, warm guitars of the track against footage starring 23 year old Clement Vannini, a French skateboarding wunderkind who was born without his right leg. Speaking about the new video, ASH say; “When we heard about Clement Zannini, we felt that he perfectly embodied the spirt of the song; facing your fears and tackling them head on. We were thrilled that he agreed to star in the video and show off his awesome skills.”
Says Clement; “We spent three days filming with Luc – it was really cool and I thank him. We can say that the story is fictional, but yet so true on many points. I really live there, it’s really my garden, I’ve been skating these spots for a long time – I really like to skate so I hope it shows through the clip.”
The video arrives ahead of ASH’s previously announced inclusion at the BBC’s Biggest Weekend Festival in Belfast – home to many ASH appearances from their first DIY shows in city centre bars to numerous shows at The Ulster Hall and The Limelight and the historic Referendum show at The Waterfront in 1998.
Following their return via the riotous Buzzkill earlier this year, Annabel is yet another addition to an already enviable catalogue – the unmistakeable sound of a band at (a return to) the peak of their powers. An open-hearted collection of songs drawn from frontman Tim Wheeler’s reflective lyrical axis dealing with friendship and betrayal, love and loss, an album which reaffirms the band’s status as one of the most idiosyncratic and singularly thrilling guitar bands on these islands.

Islands is:
True Story
Confessions In the Pool
All That I Have Left
Don’t Need Your Love
Did Your Love Burn Out?
Silver Suit
It’s A Trap
Is It True?
Incoming Waves
