Asian Dub Foundation return to London after reuniting over a live Secret Cinema re-scoring of the classic urban French film La Haine

In March 2012,  Asian Dub Foundation main man Steve Savale (Chandrasonic) was asked whether he could recreate his Southbank BFI performance but this time on the Broadwater Farm estate less than a year after the UK riots. This time Chandrasonic needed reinforcements.

Original bass player and ADF founding member Dr Das and drummer Rocky Singh hadn’t played in the band for many years. They were contacted with a proposal  and agreed it was an opportunity they couldn’t refuse. During rehearsals the vibe between the reunited musicians was obvious. They were really enjoying playing together again.

Using the energy of this incendiary night and two Parisian performances the newly reformed lineup kept rehearsing. With a fantastic spirit around the events it seemed natural that this should be the start of creating new material. Dr Das and Rocky Singh were now back full time and an approach was made to legendary English producer Adrian Sherwood to join the project. He agreed that the material and the ideas were something he could work on with a clear vision. Recording began on the new album – ‘The Signal And The Noise’.

Former vocalist Ghetto Priest returned and with Aktarvata and amazing flute boxer Nathan Lee (now a full time member of the band) all feeling the vibe the chemistry was complete for the first time for this London performance.

ADF are back and as powerful as ever. They will be playing new music, as well as highlights from their long and varied career, including from the much-lauded soundtrack to La Haine.

Asian Dub Foundation have also teamed up with Pelirocco Platters to release a special  limited edition 7″ of the brand new single ‘Radio Bubblegum’ , with an exclusive Dub B-side done by Adrian Sherwood.

Radio Bubbelgum’s  release launch coincides with Asian Dub Foundation playing a show at the Concorde 2 in Brighton on Saturday October 5th.

‘Radio Bubblegum’ is taken from Asian Dub Foundation’s forthcoming  new album ‘The Signal And The Noise’ . The album was produced by the legendary Adrian Sherwood and marks the return of Dr Das, Rocky Singh, Ghetto Priest and also features  Nathan Flutebox Lee .Dr Das remarks ‘The new albums done. The mixes are identifiably Adrian Sherwood with a new take on old skool ADF vibes. We’re very happy with how its turned out.’
