Avi Buffalo’s hugely-anticipated second album At Best Cuckold is released this week on Sub Pop. It features the singles ‘So What’ and ‘Memories Of You’, and serves as the follow-up to 2010’s hugely acclaimed self-titled debut.

‘Memories Of You’

‘So What’

‘Memories Of You’ was recently added to the BBC Radio 6 Music playlist, and the station have also selected At Best Cuckold as an Album Of The Day, while Rough Trade have made it their Album Of The Month.

It’s an uncompromising yet comforting set of songs driven by refined pop songcraft and sneaky moments of grandeur that stick in the brain. Classic-sounding melodies are delivered with a modern sensibility, creating an album that’s equal parts timely and timeless. Avi’s trademark falsetto and guitar fireworks are the centrepiece, yet well-placed piano, sax, clarinet, French horn, and cornet further enhance the proceedings creating a glorious orch-pop sheen.
