Bad Honey (fka LVNA) have unveiled new single, ‘Stuck On You’, alongside a video directed by James Rushton. The next taste of a forthcoming EP under their new moniker, the release follows ‘Motions’, which was released at the start of March to great acclaim from The Line Of Best Fit, Worldwide FM and Amazing Radio. Based in South East London, the duo (Lydia Clowes & Teresa Origone) have already garnered strong international support for the dreamy, electronic soul of their debut EP, ‘In Limerence’. With standout track, ‘Windows’ making its way onto Spotify’s New Music Friday in the UK and Portugal, Bad Honey also took a spot on Fresh Finds, which pushed them into the top 10 of the UK Viral 50. ‘Stuck On You’ sees the band continuing to explore new textures as their blissful harmonies swirl above gritty, disco-infused beats. Having previously performed at The Roundhouse, The Jazz Cafe and Omeara, playing shows with Little Simz and GoGo Penguin, Bad Honey are set to return to the live circuit this April at London’s Paper Dress Vintage for their EP launch.
The new single is about getting stuck in a destructive and all too common frame of mind where you’re constantly comparing yourself to others and trying to be someone you’re not. Writing ‘Stuck On You’ as something ‘to remind both ourselves and others that the best person you can be is yourself’, the band decided to give the song’s meaning a playfully literal interpretation for the accompanying visuals. Taped up and trapped in progressively more ridiculous scenarios, the unnecessary pains of being ‘stuck to a situation or person that isn’t you’ are perfectly embodied in each shot. The track was once again recorded with producer Count Counsellor at Family Day Recordings on the small Norwegian Island of Søndre Sandøy. Fusing vocalist Lydia’s infectious soul with a forward-thinking soundscape, ‘Stuck On You’ is a bold, pop triumph.
