Band of Horses – Knock Knock (Columbia)

The latest single ‘Knock, Knock’ by Band of Horses is taken from their fourth album ‘Mirage Rock’ which was released on the 17thSeptember on Columbia UK. Although the band have gone through quite a number of changes since its formation in 2004 the current line-up of Ben Bridwell,Creighton Barrett, Ryan Monroe, Bill Reynolds, and Tyler Ramsey works very well.

It’s never easy to follow up after such a successful third album as ‘Infinite Arms’ but this one might just do the job if the single is anything to go by. Produced by Glyn Johns who has worked with some of the best including The Who, The Beatles, Bob Dylan, and The Rolling Stones to mention but a few.

It has that classic rock feel to it with expertly balanced harmonies which create a smooth and very cool vibe. The lyrics are uplifting and sung with warmth and heart. Old and new fans alike will not be disappointed by this latest release. 8.5/10
