“…a magnetic writer with songs to obsess over. Her rhapsodic voice possesses a frail vulnerability and recalls singers like Feist and Erykah Badu” – Billboard
“… her sound hits hard like hip-hop but consistently flirts with elements of R&B and electronic; and her sullen, sexy aesthetics are strong and assured” – Interview Magazine
“Banks has only released a handful of track, but each one of them leaves you breathless” – Noisey
Critically-lauded, Los Angeles-based songstress BANKS’ anticipated LONDON EP will be released via Good Years Recording (U.K) / Harvest Records (U.S) on September 10th, and features collaborations with producers such as: SOHN, TEED, Jamie Woon, Tim Anderson, and Lil Silva. Lead single ‘Waiting Game‘ has already taken the media by storm with Vogue, Nylon, Pitchfork, Perez Hilton, Prefix, Idolator and more, singing its praises.
The self-taught pianist and singer’s forthcoming EP establishes the BANKS sound – a place where sparse clicky beats, wiry basslines, mercurial synths, confessional lyrics, and seductive melodies coalesce. Connecting the dots between ghostly dreamscapes and bleeding hearts, BANKS is well on her way to being one of the most compelling, exciting new voices of the year.
