Basement Jaxx Announce New Album ‘Junto’

Nearly four years since their last official album release Basement Jaxx are pleased to announce full details of their new album Junto – due for release on August 25th.
Earlier in the month the legendary producer duo debuted the club-ready, jacking ‘Unicorn’, the first track to be taken from Junto, which has met with universal praise, working as a perfect taster of what the full length has to offer. Junto marks the duo’s seventh studio album and the title, which translates from Spanish as together, sums up the spirit of the record and the very essence of the Jaxx’s desire to unify people with their music. “With this album” says Felix, “we wanted to do something that felt more at one with the world”. This approach is reflected in the titles of ‘Power To The People’, ‘We Are Not Alone’ and ‘Love Is At Your Side’, as well as the uplifting ‘Never Say Never’ and the throwback fun of ‘What’s The News’ and ‘Sneakin’ Toronto’.

The last few years have seen the duo take time out to write not one but two film scores (“Attack The Block” and “The Hooping Life”) as well as producing an orchestral album in collaboration with the Metropole Orkest.. 2013 saw them teasing out new music in the form of two tropical cuts ‘Back 2 The Wild’ and ‘What A Difference Your Love Makes’ and playing a number of their legendary carnival-esque live shows.
Following their electrifying performance at this year’s Ultra Festival in Miami, the Jaxx are scheduled to play a string of live shows across the summer including headline slots at Wireless & Bestival as well as a monthly DJ residency in Ibiza.
