Beak  – ‘Yatton’

Geoff Barrow, Kevin Shield’s biggest rival when it comes to sluggishness, has been positively flat out of late, a Portishead album four years ago, a main producer on The Horrors’ second album ‘Primary Colours’, two projects; Quakers & Drokk and as of this Summer, a second Beak album which yielded this propulsive gem.

Murky, lo-fi krautrock it may be but Barrow’s production expertise makes this a warm and welcoming. 8/10
