Beirut Present ‘Gibraltar’ Video
New London Show Added
New Album No No No Out September 11
Premiered today on Lauren Laverne’s 6Music radio show, Beirut have presented a new song, ‘Gibraltar’, the opening track from their forthcoming album No No No.
Beirut – ‘Gibraltar’
Directed by Brother Willis
Watch ‘Gibraltar’ below:
Joining forces once more with Brother Willis (makers of the kaleidoscopic video for recent single ‘No No No’), and interested by the idea of a setting by the sea and “the massive island of trash that is growing and floating out in the Pacific,” ‘Gibraltar’ follows Beirut leader Zach Condon and band members Paul Collins and Nick Petree picking their way through a fantasy Gibraltar to meet its ‘Rock’. The landscape – eerily abandoned and filled with detritus – is a world away from its real-life European namesake.
Last week, Beirut were the musical guests on Late Night with Seth Meyers where the six-piece played ‘No No No’ for the first time. Watch the performance in full below:
Beirut’s headline tour begins next month, and with tickets for their only UK show – at London’s Brixton Academy – sold out, the New Yorkers have announced another London show in Hackney’s St. John’s Church on September 25th. Tickets for the show are on sale now.

Coming four years after The Rip Tide, and recorded over a two week period during one of the coldest New York winters on record – with blizzard after blizzard raging outside – No No No is Condon’s most vibrant and spirited record to date.
