Berdmajik Premieres “Circles”

Celebrate the last days of summer with “Circles”, the new music video from Philadelphia psych-pop act Berdmajik.

Premiering today via Hypebeast, “Circles” is taken from Berdmajik’s debut record, SPELLS, which dropped in May.

RIYL: Toro y Moi, Neon Indian, Washed Out

The mind behind Philadelphia’s Berdmajik, Donnie Felton, is best known for his work with psych-surf-indie cult favorites Grubby Little Hands. Berdmajik’s debut album, SPELLS, sounds like a distant relative to his previous outfit – a psychedelic second cousin, twice removed. Felton’s airy pop instincts merge with melancholy vocals in a sweet/savory axis. Berdmajik’s track list spills through your ears with the same soul-steeped pop songwriting that has always been simmering just beneath the surface of Felton’s earlier efforts. This time, those undertones come frothing over.

A dream-like exploration of a danceable, fatalist romance on its last legs – SPELLS is 37 minutes of head-bopping bliss that make walking into the fire feel like entering a cool mist.

In case you missed it, the album’s singles, “Scattered Ashes” and “The First Time”, previously received coverage on Austin Town Hall, yvynyl, ThrdCoast, and more.
