Bird Dog Unveil New Track The Desert Song From Forthcoming Debut EP.

LA’s Bird Dog are pleased to announce details of their latest single, The Desert Song. It is taken from their forthcoming Misty Shrub EP, set for release on 22nd January 2016 through National Anthem.

Listen to The Desert Song here:

The Desert Song follows the band’s debut single, The Ocean and The Sea released last month in the UK.  Both tracks are taken from the previously announced EP and produced by James McAlister (long-standing drummer/percussionist with Sufjan Stevens), mixed by The Shins’ Yuuki Matthews, and recorded in the band’s own studio, set up in a dilapidated house in Latigo Canyon in Malibu, CA.

Speaking of the recording process the band said; “The room up in that house had this great, warm sound that we all really fell in love with and wanted to capture.”

The Desert Song is another window into the band’s folk-kissed, Americana-tinged rock’n’roll. A sound that evokes the lilting harmony-strewn likes of Band of Horses, The Middle East, and The Band.

Listen to previous single The Ocean and the Sea here:

Bird Dog is Maxim Helmerich (vocals, guitar), Tyler Wimpee (guitar, vocals), Eric Arndt (bass, vocals), Colton Dearing (percussion, keys, vocals) and Justin Kila (drums).
