Reveal new Daytrotter session ahead of debut US Shows at SXSW in Austin, Texas

New set of live studio recordings include a very special cover version…

Transgressive-signed teenagers Blaenavon have unveiled a new Daytrotter session.

The band recently recorded the songs at the Crypt Studios in London, performing stripped-down versions of tracks from their acclaimed ‘Miss World EP‘, alongside a rendition of Lorde  and Disclosure‘s hit single ‘Magnets‘.

Discussing their choice of cover, frontman Ben Gregory offered the following:

”Pure Heroine’ was one of our collective favourite albums of 2013. We keep returning to it: it’s pretty much 10 perfect pop songs. When we were choosing a cover, ‘Magnets’ had recently come out and we were heavily into it. Seeing her Bowie tribute at the Brits was pretty special, too. For us, he was number one. Lorde is a similarly rare talent.’

The boys are currently on an epic trek of the UK alongside bright new guitar hopes Sundara Karma, Beach Baby and The Sherlocks, warming up for their debut US shows at this year’s SXSW Festival in Austin. Their full itinerary for the trip will be revealed shortly. Forthcoming UK headline tour dates are as follows:
