Following the announcement of headliners Dizzee Rascal and Everything Everything, Blissfields has now unveiled a second wave of acts for the summer event. Pioneering DJ and producer Shy FX, UK’s foremost emerging hip hop artist Loyle Carner, and BRITs Critic Choice Award nominee Frances lead the new music announcement. Already hinted at, and now confirmed, Blissfields will stage a full human-sized opened dollhouse as the centerpiece of the 2016 House Party theme. Also unveiled is a brand new area dubbed The Bay featuring a sandy beach, pier, and after-dark boat parties. Tickets are on sale now viablissfields.co.uk for the June 30th to July 2nd event in Hampshire.
The Mercury Award winning platinum selling crossover grime-pop legend Dizzee Rascal will see in the House Party vibe in blockbuster style, sharing headliner duties with Everything Everything, who in 2015 released their second top-10 album “Get To Heaven”.
Fellow Mercury Award winner – DnB pioneer Roni Size – with Dynamite MC also join the bill, alongside some guaranteed summer highlights Sundara Karma, Jones and longtime Blissfields favorites Dub Pistols and Beans On Toast.
Breakthrough jungle pioneer, producer (Dizzee Rascal), remixer (Plan B, Naughty Boy/Wiley/Emili Sande), and DJ in his own right Shy FX now joins the line-up, as do rising Manchester four-piece post-punk outfit and future festival essential Spring King. Fresh from a nomination for the Brit Awards’ Critics Choice and BBC Sounds Of 2016, Frances adds an elegant pop backdrop to the festival, while Loyle Carner brings what NME describe as “sensitive and eloquent” and The Guardian as a “confessional hip-hop” style of rap.
Also nominated for the BBC Sounds Of 2016 award, Billie Marten adds more to Blissfields ongoing dedication to bring the biggest breaking acts to the festival, with Rationale following shows at London’s Village Underground and Scala venues with an appearance.
Across the festival DJ Barely Legal and Isaac Gracie make their debuts, as Mary Miss Fairy and Mini Da Minx return for another ride.

“HOUSE PARTY” THEME
+ OUR HOUSE INSTALLATION

Your inner child has been given the keys to Blissfields – under one condition – you absolutely have to throw a party. From the soul basement of Animal House to the tree-lined estate of Vicarage Farm, it’s time to go old school and take over the palace for one ultimate weekend party. Bring your sleeping bag, togas, PJs and mixtapes to the biggest housequake of 2016.
Blissfields BIGGEST ART INSTALLATION EVER called Our House – a full sized dollhouse – will sit in the main arena opened up for you to explore its rooms and hidden treasures, creating an interactive festival site like never before.
Indulge your IRL inner Sims and throw a house party all of your own by signing up in advance, meet the roaming family residents, stage a food fight, chill in the garden, join a garage rave… in the garage… and be part of this brand new immersive area at Blissfields.
Channelling the spirit of National Lampoons and Dr. Frank N. Furter via the Bratpack, 1990’s and Skins, Blissfields will smudge the eras into the party at the end of the universe from corner to corner.

BRAND NEW FOR 2016 + THE BAY

An entirely brand new area for 2016, The Bay will take Blissfields to the beach for a summer fling. Spend wet hot hazy days on the pier, sand at your feet and ice cream in hand, before the deckchairs make way for a houseboat party after dark. Nothing but good vibrations and big floppy hats.
Whether booking a meal from the beach side restaurant, or simply kicking back in a beach hut, this idyllic new corner of Blissfields is well placed to enjoy the music on the main stage and soak up the summer festival atmosphere.
The Smoke & Mirrors restaurant offers a fine dining festival banquet experience with traditional smoked food, done with a Blissfields twist of course. The 3 Rosette-rated chef, attached to one of the country’s leading restaurants, will also be looking after revellers on the top deck of the Blisscotheque with taster menus of the finest calibre.

BLISSCOTHEQUE + UPPER DECK

The BLISSCOTHEQUE double decker Routemaster bus will be taking a mix of the old school and freshest urban performers til dawn, accompanied as always by a loaded cocktail bar.
For the first time you will be able to book out a slot on the top of the bus where a waiter will knock up your drink orders as you enjoy a selection of food and the best, unspoiled and unparalleled view of the Blissfields Manor estate. Lord it up in true style by hosting your own mini party within the festival as beats bawl from below deck.
This year’s acts taking to the literal wheels of steel include one of clubland’s hottest new names and a huge rising talent, stage headliner DJ BARELY LEGAL, with BITR8, K1R3Y, RATZI, KIDD, GUY HAUBEN, BIG CHIEF YELLA TEETH, and FOOR with more to be announced.

BLISSFIELDS

Blissfields has reached out into the rafters of the cosmos inviting sold-outs crowds to its small but perfectly formed, 5,000 capacity, tree-lined mini wilderness in the Hampshire countryside since 2001.
With previous acts including Mumford & Sons, Laura Marling, Sam Smith, Bastille, Clean Bandit, Years & Years, Charli XCX, John Grant, The Horrors, London Grammar, Simian Mobile Disco, Mystery Jets, Jake Bugg, Ben Howard, Tune-Yards, Bondax, Nick Mulvey, and Passenger, the festival has already set itself out as a tastemaker event for breaking the biggest home grown and international acts.
The family friendly festival for forward thinking music fans will be inviting many of its collaborators back this year including the 2015 AIF Winners’ The Hidden Hedge, who claimed the award for most “Unique Festival Arena” of the year. Once again they’ll be building a dystopia within utopia… crash-landing its Boeing cockpit installation into a new VJ stage, as SERIAL KILLAZ top their music bill.
The festival within a festival for little Blissfieldians and their families, ANGEL GARDENS is back in 2016 programming a non-stop multi venue experience for any age. In 2015 Grandmaster Flash turned up to scratch with kids as part of a DJ workshop… this year, who knows!
The CRAFT AREA and an all new and re-thought A-Z ARENA will be hosting immersive and hands-on activities across the weekend, with some theatrical twists while THE LARCH is also getting a makeover with a later run time to include a silent disco.
This May Beans on Toast is going on a tour of some of England’s finest
small towns, this adventure into the heart of England will take him
from Milton Keynes to Warsop to Totnes hitting some places he’s never
heard of on the way. Throughout the tour Beans will be meeting up with brilliant local songwriters who will be playing the shows and part of a compilation CD made for the tour. On Saturday afternoon in the Larch stage Beans will be inviting some of these new songwriters to come and play and hosting an afternoon of new exciting songwriters and celebrating the towns they came from.
For the first time in the festival’s history Blissfields have teamed up with an agency to host a special ‘takeover’ of the big top on Thursday night. For one night only, the festival will welcome ‘The NOW Stage’ that will be hosted and curated by the independent bookings and management agency, This Is Now, who will stage performances from Molotov Jukebox, Too Many T’s, Son Of Dave and more, as part of their programme to kick Blissfields off in style. Thursday tickets are available when booking weekend passes.
A house party is nothing without the guests – so come and build this supreme cathedral with us. All Early Bird and Tier 1 Tickets have sold out, with Tier 2 Tickets now on sale now via www.blissfields.co.uk
It’s without doubt the most ambitious Blissfields yet, and still only 5,000 capacity.
