BLOOD RED SHOES// FANS SCAN THE WORLD TO RELEASE NEW SONG
Brighton duo Blood Red Shoes hand over power to their fans to release a brand new song from their forthcoming album.
The band, who have been recording in Berlin, will place 10 QR codes in 10 different cities around the world. Each QR code will unlock part of a new song, which will be streamed on the band’s website once all 10 codes have been discovered.
The duo will announce each city on a daily basis from 21st November and reveal clues to the exact locations of the codes on 1st December. The first person to find the code in each city will win ‘two free tickets for life’ to any Blood Red Shoes club show.
“We wanted to do something creative with how we release the first song from our new album and something where we give fans control over when the song comes out”, explains Steve. “We’ve got really dedicated fans all over the world so we thought the coolest thing to do would be to find a way where we can connect these people together from each country, a kind of international fan collaboration to release our song.”
Blood Red Shoes are currently putting the finishing touches to their fourth album, due for release on Jazz Life/[PIAS] Cooperative in early 2014.
Renowned for their fiery shows, and uncompromising punk DIY ethic, their unrelenting touring schedule has won them a legion of loyal fans across the globe.
