BOILER ROOM HOST BLACK LIVES MATTER PANEL WITH BIG NARSTIE, NOVELIST & MORE

MON 15 AUGUST, 12:00 – 13:30 BST —  blrrm.tv/blm-uk

GET INVOLVED USING  #BRxBLM

In the wake of the fifth anniversary of the infamous UK uprisings and the ongoing unrest in the US, Boiler Room are using their platform to pick apart two of the most important societal issues — racial inequality and police brutality.

On  Monday 15 August (from 12:00 – 13:30 BST), a panel of influential musicians and creatives speak at Black Cultural Archives in Brixton — one of London’s key command posts for the preservation of Black Britishness.

The panel includes grime musicians, Novelist (former youth mayor) and Big Narstie, BBC 1Xtra’s Sian Anderson, documentary maker, Cecile Emeke,Ayishat Akanbi and Darcus Howe, influential civil liberties campaigner and father of Darcus Beese (head of Island Records).

The aim is to create an open forum for discussion, focusing on how we can work together to put a stop to the violence and ignorance. This will be mirrored with an event in New York City at a later date.

We want our audience’s voices to be heard, so get involved using the #BRxBLM hashtag. We’re collecting questions from across social media and our chat room starting from now and during the broadcast.

PANELISTS:

Ayishat Akanbi

Big Narstie

Cecile Emeke

Darcus Howe

Novelist

Sian Anderson
