Manchester born producer Boothroyd has always been an artist that has provided the unexpected. A debut EP that explored the darker shades of electronica was followed by an up-front collaborative project with grime talisman Maxsta, before today releasing his most ambitious project to date; his debut album, ‘Pure Country’, released via UK label Fnord Communications.

As the label that helped to launch the careers of seminal modern UK acts such as South London post-punk heroes Shame and British pub-pop champions The Rhythm Method, Fnord Communications is the ideal home for Boothroyd’s hybrid electronic styles. ‘Pure Country’ is the perfect encapsulation of Boothroyd’s diverse yet unconventional range of influences. Immersive yet uniquely rhythmic, the album provides a sonic tapestry that constantly intrigues, embodying blissful, sun-kissed atmospheres layered upon distorted textures yet in the same breath offering nostalgic melodic lines and complex percussive patterns.
Out now via Fnord Communications, Boothroyd’s ‘Pure Country’ is a beguiling 9 song collection of genre-defying tracks from one of the most intriguing production talents in contemporary UK electronic music. By compiling a wide range of sonic inspirations in one condensed work, Boothroyd has created an eclectic debut – one that puts his talent for intricate sound design and crafting subtle euphoria on centre stage.
‘Pure Country’ is available now via Fnord Communications.
