LISTEN “TOMORROW”

Banjo-picking, harmony-driven indie folk” – Paste

If you love the sound of The Lumineers or Mumford & Sons, picture that, but with a resounding female vocal in the mix.” – Hello Giggles

Splitting their time between Los Angeles and San Francisco, Branches have described their collaborative process as ‘a lot like long-distance dating’. Through both sing-along celebration and solitary longing, Branches offer their own brand of harmony-driven indie-rock, with elements of folk-instrumentation and pop-inspiration.

Best-friends turned band mates, the lady and gentlemen of Branches are making music that they believe in. Coming out on September 16th, their sophomore LP, White Flag, (pre-order it HERE) is definitely music they have faith in. You can now listen + share the album’s first catchy single“Tomorro

“Like most of the songs on our new record, ‘Tomorrow’ is a song about hope,” explained guitarist/vocalist Tyler Madsen. “We’re not promised tomorrow – and we certainly don’t know what it holds. And that’s OK. Hope reminds us that tomorrow is worth waiting around for.”

White Flag utilizes every instrument in Branches’ arsenal – electric guitar and banjo, harmonium and synthesizer, tambourine and roto tom – exploring the two-sided coin of surrender; considering the right and wrong times to throw in the towel.

“The chorus of ‘Tomorrow’ came to me 30,000 at feet, between my second and third ginger ales on a cross-country flight,” Madsen said. “I remember whisper-singing the melody into my phone, trying not to wake up the guy sleeping in the seat next to me. Not the most glamorous moment in our creative process, but we never really seem to get to choose the time or place that these things come to us.”
