Braxe + Falcon announce ‘Step By Step Remixes’
Following the release of Braxe + Falcon’s widely acclaimed Step By Step EP, the French house pioneers have announced Step By Step Remixes, a collection of mixes by A-Trak, ABSOLUTE., Amtrac, Shakedown, Didi Han and more that breathe new life into the duo’s four original tracks. Step By Step Remixes will be released digitally and on vinyl as a limited 12” on June 9th.
Today, Braxe + Falcon release two new versions of their sublime single “Step By Step” – Axel Boman’s In The Air Version, which features a fresh vocal performance by Panda Bear, and the Junior Sanchez Remix, a swinging companion to Boman’s melodic dance.
Axel Boman says of the mix: “You can’t out-falcon the Falcon but you can try!” At least that’s what I set out to do when I got the chance to remix my youth’s heroes. The French Touch sound from the late 90s and early 00s had a huge impact on me in my formative years as an aspiring DJ in Stockholm. My remix is an homage to a simpler time, to relentless joy and to the originators of last year’s brightest shining piece of electronic pop music.”

The collaboration between Braxe and Falcon, née Alain and Stéphane Quême, serves to create a modern duo both in scope and talent; Braxe is known for making some of the most important and iconic house and pop music records of the late 90s and early 2000s, including “Music Sounds Better With You” as Stardust with Daft Punk’s Thomas Bangalter, and official remixes for Beyoncé, Britney Spears, Kelis, Kylie Minogue and more. DJ Falcon also teamed with Bangalter as Together in the early days, releasing the French Touch anthem “So Much Love To Give” and created quintessential remixes for Phoenix, Cassius, and Justice.
In 2022 these originals presented their first-ever collaboration as Braxe + Falcon with their Step By Step EP, which received praise from Pitchfork, Stereogum, Resident Advisor, KCRW, The Fader, and more. The pair also treated fans to live DJ sets in Los Angeles, New York and France, the most notable being their Step By Step EP release party in Paris which included guest sets from A-Trak, Busy P, Didi Han, Nathalie Duchene, and more.
