Brazilian singer Nonô unleashes her debut single Bite today 9th August 2018. Fresh on the music scene and living in London, Nonô reveals her laid-back underground sensibilities on this new offering. The track also comes complete with a video shot around London with music and film duo Temptress who directed Chloe Höwl’s Do It Alone video.
Recorded in Stockholm, the beat for Bite was inspired by Brazilian samba and funk carioca, creating a pulsing and euphoric beat set against a catchy chorus. For Nonô, the track is reminiscent of something you’d hear in the middle of Luau (beach party) in her home country. It is an exciting taste of what’s to come from the 20-year old singer.

Growing up in a big family in Brazil, Nonô’s listening taste pulls in many inspirations, from Seu Jorge, Funk Carioca and Bossa Nova/Samba, to Billie Holiday, Frank Sinatra, Etta James, Daniel Caesar, Nina Simone and contemporaries like Eminem, D’Angelo and Chance The Rapper. Nonô moved to London for musical inspiration and it was a time when- she explains- “life got even more real. Everyday is a challenge — you always have to prove yourself, your worth, and have to know that it is difficult making it out here but you can’t let yourself be affected by these things. You always have to keep pushing forwards”. Nonô is setting herself up to be a new young artist to watch. Nonô recently took time out to record a cover of American/Bermudian artist Collie Buddz’s Blind to You.
