Bryce Hackford has shared a brand new video for his track ‘Another Fantasy’. It’s the first video to surface for a track from his PRAH Recordings debut LP Fair and was premiered exclusively by SPIN.
“This video was produced through several stages of filtering, using overlaid projections of found nature footage and video feedback, colors filmed and manipulated from an old television screen, and digital post-processing,” said director Camilla Padgitt-Coles AKA Ivy Meadows.
“In line with the slow reveal of the song, the concept is to slowly unveil the image, after some fits and starts and stuttering, as though through a reverse analog decay. It requires some patience but when it is finally revealed the psychological effect is more full-on.”

‘Another Fantasy’ opens Fair. Next, against the warehouse wrecking ‘Another Fantasy’ and luminous synthesizers of ‘I Want More’, are the chiming spirituals of ‘Heart To Beat’ and ‘Slow Motion’. They echo the classic Detroit house of Moodymann and Theo Parrish, in Bryce’s atomized formulation of electronica and dance. Hypnagogic dance and sampledelic music, mind altering and uplifting, inspired by the Brooklyn warehouse parties where Bryce has DJ’d for years.

Since 2007, Bryce has been making experimental recordings and collaborating with visual artists. With releases as part of Behavior and Pearl Necklace, Bryce explored new ground in sampling to critical acclaim. Instinctively calling to mind contemporaries James Ferraro, Terekke and Simoncino. A feverish creative force, in addition to creating Fair, he spent last summer travelling as a model with Ryan McGinley, and playing with Rhys Chatham, Delia Gonzalez and Arp.
