Manchester post-punk five-piece Cabbage have announced details of their debut headline tour. The hotly-tipped new band, who have toured in support of YAK, The Fall and Blossoms, will follow a busy summer of festival appearances – including Isle of Wight Festival, Kendal Calling, and Festival No.6 – with an extensive UK tour throughout October and November including hometown show at Manchester’s Ruby Lounge on 28th October. Cabbage’s new single Dinner Lady is released on 7 inch single on August 5th on Tim Burgess’s Ogenesis Recordings. The track, which was premiered on Radcliffe & Maconie’s BBC 6Music show, is available to stream on Spotify here
Cabbage are Lee Broadbent (lead vocals), Joe Martin (vocals, guitar), Eoghan Clifford (guitar), Stephen Evans (bass) and Asa Morley (drums). With “the black humour of Buzzcocks, the surrealism of Happy Mondays, the haircuts of various Stone Roses” (i-D), Cabbage are a semi-controlled riot of tunes, energy and opinions.
