Camylio unveils his emotionally charged new single “trouble”
Strains of soft piano anchor the song’s cinematic soundscape. Against this sparse backdrop, Camylio’s voice practically overflows with raw feeling. He wrestles with a turbulent relationship as he laments, “She knows exactly what she’s doing to me.” Fittingly, he admits, “I call her trouble.” The visual seamlessly translates this passion to the screen, highlighting Camylio’s keen ability to conjure unfiltered emotion as a performer.
About the song, he comments, “There’s nothing like that adrenaline rush you get when you know something’s wrong for you, but you do it anyway. There’s something about the risk to yourself, your feelings, whatever it is that can really show you just how ‘sweet trouble can be.’”
On the upcoming EP, he shares, “This project feels like a homecoming creatively. My entire musical upbringing was listening to a weird combination of artists like The Weeknd and Hozier, but also Ed Sheeran and Shawn Mendes etc. Truly a combination of light and dark. To get to make the music I’ve always wanted to make and have the reaction from my fans be so positive has been really inspiring, and I can’t wait to feel that interaction live. Love is gentle and beautiful, but it can also be exhilarating, dark, and passionate. This project to me represents the light and dark sides of attraction and love.”
“trouble” paves the way for in the light and shadows out in July. The seven-track EP illuminates Camylio’s progression, revolving around a balance of alternative pop production and open-hearted, folk-inspired storytelling—signifying that he has truly come into his own as a songwriter, performer, and artist.
He preceded the EP earlier this year with his most recent single “high, high, high,” which amassed over 900 thousand global streams in its first week. Last fall, he released his fan favorite before we say goodbye EP, which, in his words, tells the story of “a failing relationship, the stages of falling out of love, and dealing with the consequences. Heartbreak doesn’t happen overnight, there’s a beginning, a middle, and an end.” Featuring singles “strangers,” “i’m sorry,” and “unwanted,” the project has tallied over 19 million-plus streams and counting.
With a combined following of more than 5 million followers across platforms and over 200 million career streams, Camylio is gearing up for a major 2024—stay tuned for more!
