The debut album from Brighton band Cave Painting ‘Votive Life’ is due for release on 24th September on RCRD LBL to co-inside with a live UK tour. Prior to the album release will be a free download of the single ‘So Calm’ feature on the album available from the bands site www.cavepaintingmusic.com. The video for this was shot in the Mojave Desert and was premiered online on the 6th August.
This band has a totally chilled out vibe to them and are yet somehow upbeat and energetic. The album is well done and each song flows expertly into the next giving the overall impression of well-timed ease often only found in later albums from bands who have been together for a much longer period of time.
The lyrics are very cleverly delivered by front man Adam Kane and form the keystone to many of the tracks. His voice has a distinctive tone and were it not for the fantastic guitar rhythms this band could easily have fallen into the ‘mass produced singer songwriter’ cliché, but they don’t thankfully. The songs are beautiful, bold, and full of sentiment.
They will be performing live throughout September and October in Leeds, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Newcastle, York, Stoke, Nottingham, Manchester,Sheffield, Birmingham, London, Bristol, Reading, and Brighton. 8/10
