About
UK’s Charlotte OC reveals the video for single “Satellite” HERE add link + audio HERE. “Satellite” comes from her forthcoming EP, slated for release in early 2019 on GMR / Neon Gold Records, paired with the return to America for shows including SXSW (details to be announced). Clash Magazine says “Softly soulful and immediately infectious, the new single is Charlotte OC at her most open, most vivid. …it has a cinematic sheen which propels it into a world of its own.”
Satellite” was co-directed by Charlotte and the director Luis Cross (Bipolar Sunshine, Octavian), started with an idea by Charlotte, with the director helping to bring the idea to life.
“The whole idea behind the video is about meeting somebody and thinking they’re incredible and you see an ‘out of this world’ quality in them. That standard stuff you feel when you let your head run away ….but sometimes they’re just not quite what you thought they were and it turns out they’re just pretty ordinary.”
I really didn’t want the video to be soppy and I wanted to portray my personality as much as possible. I feel like this is the first video I’ve done where I’m showing my fans who I am and what my humour is like. Which overall is silly and bit a weird.”
Charlotte OC is taking the independent route, releasing “Satellite” via GMR in the UK and Neon Gold Records. Following an extensive writing period in Los Angeles, Charlotte OC co-wrote “Satellite” with James Yuill, who also produced the single. This release follows Charlotte’s recent collaboration with Jonas Blue on “Supernova,” which was included on his platinum-selling debut album Blue. Having amassed widespread acclaim with singles such as “Almost Mine” and “Symphony,” garnering 8 million and 4 million Spotify streams respectively, Charlotte OC starts 2019 as one of the most dynamic musicians to look out for.
