CHAYCIN’ CHANGE Offers Reflective Earworm’ELITE’
Chaycin’ Change, professional moniker of Chayce Whiting unveils the third instalment of his conscious hip-hop in the form of ‘Elite’ – a reflective earworm out now via LA based indie label Red Umbrella Records. The track is lifted from Chayce’s upcoming debut EP ‘Overdrawn’ planned for spring 2020 release – a movement of motivation and moxie, with a goal to empower and inspire the disconnected generation.
Lyrically about striving to continuously evolve and expand to become the best version of yourself, Chayce affirms, “The only comparison that needs to be made in life is between oneself and one’s higher self. We should all strive to be the most elite version of ourselves and surround ourselves with the necessary energy to achieve this mindset.”
The bass heavy banger incorporates elements of African group vocals blended with gritty trap beats; juxtaposing a comforting reassurance of being surrounded by a support network, with the lyrical theme that only you can put the work in to achieve your goals. ‘Elite’ captures Chayce’s morality and assiduous work ethic, writing the song when he became motivated by “some recent accomplishments then realised it wasn’t enough and I needed to go harder. Woke up feeling like run it up”.
Chaycin’ Change is the professional alias of Chayce Whiting, a hip hop artist, producer and writer based in LA. Raised in Sacremento, Chayce is a character of humbleness and faith, with a mission to not only affect individuals with his music, but also to reassure and comfort those who might otherwise feel isolated – Chaycin’ Change presents a new brand of selfless hip hop. Combining traditional gritty hip hop/trap production with profound content and lyrical substance, Chayce’s ability to create memorable and distinct music is singular. Taking influence from Eminem, School Boy Q and Chance The Rapper, as well as his own personal observations and ambitions, Chayce focuses on the current millennial generation with the goal of turning the disconnected into a confident generation that will look out for themselves in order to be able to care for those less fortunate. Taking a tougher view on situations, Chayce asks people to change themselves before commenting on society at large. He has worked with producers within his Hollywood based collective, including producer/ mixing engineer Ekzakt, who’s numerous cuts include 6lack’s debut multi-billion streaming album, East Atlanta Love Letter.
Having crafted for many years, Chayce now has an arsenal of a hard hitting yet positively charged catalogue that has the intention of changing the collective consciousness.
