Chlöe Howl is pleased to release her brand new single In The Middle (Sad Banger) out today Friday 7th June 2019.LISTEN HERE
Produced with long-term collaborator Chris Zane (Passion Pit, St Lucia Friendly Fires), this fresh new cut takes fans on a journey into classic Chlöe Howl catchy pop territory, with Zane’s future pop production complimenting her progression as an artist. The track follows up Chlöe’s 2018 Work EP, which featured fan favourite 23 and a electrifying sold-out headline show at London’s Moth Club.
“’I wrote the track when someone left their partner to be with me. I was madly in love, but hated that my happiness was at the expense of someone else. I put myself into their head space – I guess in pursuit of some atonement – and In The Middle was born. It’s my Sad Banger and probably lyrically my favourite song I’ve written to date.’

– Chlöe Howl
Chlöe knew music was what she wanted to do from the age of ten, growing up in Berkshire on the hip-hop she’d hear blasting from her older sisters’ bedrooms and the New Order and The Smiths records her dad used to play in the car. Chlöe left school at the age of sixteen and scored a record deal with Columbia Records shortly after.

Howl spent the next three years writing and recording songs, doing studio time with the likes of Justin Parker, Joel Pott, Samuel Preston, EG White. Much anticipation for the young artist also brewed during this time; in 2014, Chlöe was nominated for BBC’s ‘Sound of’ poll alongside Sam Smith, FKA Twigs and Ella Eyre, and ‘Critics’ Choice’ at the BRIT Awards. Chlöe Howl returned to music with her critically acclaimed single Magneticin 2017 after a 3-year hiatus whilst she took a break from releasing music to hone her new sound. Next single Do It Alone soon followed, leaving fans on the edge of their seats ready to sell out tickets for Chlöe’s show at The Pickle Factory, London later that year. Chlöe’s music has now smashed over 12 million streams, not a bad feat for an independent artist.
