New York, NY (June 2, 2026) – In anticipation of his new album Saw It In A Dreamarriving this Friday, June 5, New York based songwriter/producer Christopher Ardrahas his latest single, “Running Backwards.”
“This track was inspired by a lot of the divisive language I see around politics and the conversations I’ve had with my wife about how most people don’t realize they’re actually arguing the same point, but they just want to be in confrontation,” notes Ardra. “I like the fact that although it outlines all of the problems, it pretty much reminds you that these are problems that you’ve created.”
Christopher Ardra and his band will be celebrating the record and summer with a free performance at the Jones Beach Boardwalk Bandshell, July 30 in Wantagh, New York.
Saw It In A Dream arrives just two years after Ardra’s remarkable solo debut, Sometimes Other Times which immediately put him on the map. In it Ardra pours his eclecticism and sense of sonic adventure into the self-produced album, on which he played almost every instrument and handled most of the vocals alongside an array of guest singers. While its individual tracks can certainly stand alone, it succeeds as an aural and emotional journey with a beginning, middle, and end.
“It’s more of a complete thought than my debut. It’s a conversation, and when I get to the end of that conversation, it’s cathartic and feels resolved,” mulled Ardra. “While it’s definitely rock with pop elements, I think of it as more of an album that you sit and listen to.”
The title Saw It In A Dream encapsulates the record’s recurring themes of defining our own identity and observing the identities of those around you. It’s about being unsure if you’ve truly defined yourself and watching others navigate that same challenge.
“You saw it in a dream, but you have to figure out if it’s your dream or someone else’s,” Ardra continued. “Am I doing something for myself because it’s actually something that I want or am I just reacting to something and thus doing something that someone else thinks is a good idea?”
Saw It In A Dream follows Ardra’s 2025 EP, SaiRu, and 2024 solo debut, Sometimes Other Times. After five records with the band Station, Ardra is proving himself to be a restless and nimble solo artist, continually expanding and exploring new musical avenues.
