City Reign – ‘Another Step’

Recently I’ve been having CD’s falling through my letter box that aren’t extreme metal or standard hardcore and Another Step by City Reign is another one of these bad boys. Something I wouldn’t normally listen to, or go out of my way to get my hands on but needless to say what a good listen.

With backing from Britain’s very own Steve Lamacq City Reign already has some of this countries own music heavy weights fighting in their corner. With a guitar driven post rock sound that lands somewhere between Semisonic and Athlete the boys in City Reign are attempting to recreate the wheel of British guitar music.

City Reign have been able to create an album that is filled with melody and beauty with lyrics that speak to everyone and with little clichés. This band no that making music isn’t about being completely out there or off the wall, they know it’s about being able to create a piece of music that the working man can relate to.

City Reign are a band that are filled with promise and pride who are definite stars of the future. If you choose to check out one new band today then I suggest City Reign. 7.8/10
