Best leave it to others to help explain the draw of Cold In Berlin; “’White Horse’ – straight, unremixed, unreconstituted, raw and unapologetic and as intended – is a blazing, ferocious ball of fire and one of the most striking singles I’ve heard all year. Spiky, archly gothic new wave – Banshees style – collides with grunge… distilled into a blast of pure acid punk.”whisperinandhollerin.com
- White Horse
- What Went Wrong (Voltage Black State Sanctioned Mix)
- If You Take Me Apart (Baker P.M Version)
- God I Love You (Drum Cunt Remix)
- White Horse (Heretics Sermon)
The three remixed album tracks sound more like unique compositions, so breath-taking is their deconstruction of the originals. Trusted collaborators Voltage Black, Drum Cunt (his last UK work having relocated to Japan), and Give Me Walls album producer Pete Baker; strip, chop, blur and distort the composite parts into pounding beats, deep sub dub loops and at times beautiful melodic electro. The Heretics remix layers on heavy keys and melds a disco beat, a darkwave floor filler for Europe’s darkest dancefloors.
Strictly limited to 100 handmade copies the White Horse E.P sees the band immerse themselves in their favourite scenes; Witch House, Dub Step and Doom. The sound of which Cold in Berlin will be taking on tour for their post gig d.j sets on their forthcoming tour of Germany; culminating in a weekend in Berlin in which sees CiB’s Witch House London night joins forces with Robot Elephant impresario Sebestian Weikart and label mate Church of Synth at the Mater Suspiria Vision linked club night Endorcism at the King Kong Klub. Keep up with the tour via an ArtRocker tour diary.
