ALBUM PRODUCED BY PETER BREWIS OF FIELD MUSIC
BAND ANNOUNCE UK TOURDATES FOR NOVEMBER / DECEMBER
Tyne and Wear four-piece The Cornshed Sisters have shared a new single “Honey & Tar”. It’s taken from the eponymous forthcoming album, released 3rd November on Memphis Industries.
The Cornshed Sisters are Jennie Brewis, Cath Stephens, Liz Corney and Marie Nixon: four singer-songwriters who weave together pop, folk, ballad and protest music into a unique and distinctive style.
“Honey & Tar” is a beguilingly, delicate folk number that deals with the feeling of being separated from a loved one and the subtle reminders that keep those emotions flooding back.
Jennie Brewis: “The title track is about feeling an overwhelming loss when you’re separated from someone you love and how sense of smell triggers strong emotions and memories.”
Honey & Tar was recorded and produced by Peter Brewis at Field Music’s Studio on the banks of the River Wear, and The Cornshed Sisters will be playing shows throughout November and December:
01 Nov – Cluny 2, Newcastle
02 Dec – Brudenell Social Club, Leeds (w/Field Music)
07 Dec – Thousand Island, London
08 Dev – The George, Hitchin
11 Dec – Castle Hotel, Manchester
Honey & Tar is available to preorder now on CD, LP and digital from www.thecornshedsisters.com.
