Counting Crows have just unveiled the first single from their brand new studio album Somewhere Under Wonderland. ‘Scarecrow’ is a stunning and beautiful song with a Deep South blues twang, accompanied by a unique lyric video that features 3-D chalk artist Chris Carlson hand-drawing the artwork for the song, originally painted by Felipe Molina.

‘Scarecrow’ follows the epic eight-minute album opener, ‘Palisades Park’, as the second song to be revealed from the album. That track, and its stunning short film directed by Bill Fishman, was released to coincide with the album announcement earlier this month.

Somewhere Under Wonderland is released on September 15th on Capitol Records, through Virgin EMI in the UK and marks the band’s first original material since ‘Saturday Night & Sunday Mornings’ in 2008.
Counting Crows – Adam Duritz (vocals), Jim Bogios (drums), David Bryson (guitar), Charlie Gillingham (keyboards), David Immergluck (guitar), Millard Powers (bass) and Dan Vickrey (guitar) – have sold more than 20 million albums worldwide after exploding onto the music scene with their multiplatinum breakout album ‘August and Everything After’ in 1993.
The band are in the midst of the North American leg of their major worldwide tour which concludes in Los Angeles at the historic Greek Theatre on August 17. The UK and European leg of the tour begins November 1 in Birmingham (see full dates below).
