CRIG is the debut solo project from Craig Johnson, the singer from Leeds post-punk outfit AUTOBAHN. A lo-fi, satirical take on the singer-songwriter tradition, these are raw, unfiltered diary entries, delivered with directness and a DIY spirit. For fans of early Guided By Voices, Silver Jews, Beat Happening, Smog, Daniel Johnston, Joanna Sternberg, The Magnetic Fields and early Father John Misty.
“This one’s for all the flat-earthers out there,” says CRIG. “I saw the curves of the Earth once. These days, it’s hard to know what to believe. Just the other day, I saw a man gardening in a full Armani suit, emptying weeds into a briefcase. It feels like the matrix is broken. Life was simpler before the internet.”
