Whether it is as an artist, a label head, a songwriter for film and TV, or behind the scenes alongside her father, legendary composer Alan Menken, Anna puts her passion for music into everything she creates.

Today, Rose reveals her powerful new single “Nobody Knows I’m Here” via White Pony / AWAL. Rose, who is known for her hard-driving rock, grunge, and dirty blues, has rediscovered her roots in the singer-songwriter world. Channeling some of the female greats of our time, from Joni Mitchell and Bonnie Raitt to Stevie Nicks and Patty Griffin, you can feel their influence flowing throughout the record.

Co-written by Rose and Mando Saenz, and produced by Paul Moak (Caitlyn Smith, Gabe Dixon, Marc Broussard), “Nobody Knows I’m Here” plays on themes of anonymity and ego. “It’s about choosing to envelop yourself in darkness in order to find the light again,” says Rose. “When I sat down with Paul for the first time, I knew something special was happening in the room. He understood not only who I am as an artist but also what I want to accomplish with my music. I am so proud of what came out from us working together.”

“Nobody Knows I’m Here” is the first track from her forthcoming project. The highly anticipated album, which was written and recorded in Nashville, is due out later this year. As a touring artist, Rose has always been a bit of a nomad, believing that home is where the heart is. For this record, home was in Nashville.

“Throughout a time of deep turmoil and sadness, I found myself in Nashville a lot, writing not just for myself but for other artists and for film and television. That city slowly began to really feel like home. Working there, making art there… really helped me heal a lot of the wounds that I had collected along the way in my life,” shares Rose. “I’m eternally grateful to the city of Nashville for opening their arms to me. As a bit of an outsider, it gave me a place where I felt like I belonged for the first time really…ever.

Her latest EP, Strays In The Cut was the much-anticipated follow-up to Rose’s critically acclaimed album, Behold A Pale Horse. Behold a Pale Horse introduced us to Rose’s dynamic voice and effortless command of the guitar; each song highlighted by attitude and pure grit. Strays In The Cut is a collection of six mesmerizing tracks that find the fiery singer at the top of her game, pushing musical boundaries in pure, groundbreaking styles.

In 2012, Rose also gained attention for her sultry take on Arcade Fire’s “My Body is a Cage.” Cover Me Songs premiered the track, affirming, “The sparse cover showcases her effortlessly soulful singing.” She has an effortless command of the guitar, shredding licks like the venerated axemen of rock and roll’s glory days.  Her voice is dynamic – at times, breathy, and at other times, piercing – but always authentically soulful.  She’s the consummate artist, letting her spirit shine through with every performance.
