‘Fight and Fall’ by Cut Ribbons is the last track on their new EP ‘Bound in Love’ which is out now on Kissability.
These lot are bloody great, they’ve just completed a UK tour and the response has been fantastic. Hope you like this, and if you do, please share it with your people.
Video for the title track ‘Bound in Love’ is due next week, too.
Llanelli quintet Cut Ribbons describe their hometown as a musical hotspot, but in truth, their seaside roots are far off most trendsetting maps. Its the rural expanse and boundless countryside surrounding them that really informs the eternally sweet and passionate melodies of new EP Bound In Love.
With a dual opener of Memorial Part 1 and 2 the band cast a heartbreaking tale of loss and letting go to a journey of glimmering guitars and hopeful girl/boy harmonies. Title track Bound In Love is a story of recovering devotion as lead singer Aled Rees laments, We broke our backs, when we hit the ground, been working on my posture, and thats enough for now. Closing track Fight and Fall is a farewell that echoes the gravitas of Echo and the Bunnymen and the stature of Elbow.
Having spent the past two years tirelessly touring the UK supporting the likes of Dry The River and The Joy Formidable, Cut Ribbons have grown into a band ready to steal hearts. Taking influence from Deftones to The National to Idlewild, and with a debut album to follow in 2014, it wont be long until Llanelli is synonymous with these five charmers.
