Danish shoegazers Virgin Suicide stream new single ‘Burnout’

Nordic Music Society – 04.08.17

Danish quintet return with bittersweet single from forthcoming sophomore LP.

Previously supported The Charlatans, Glasvegas and The Walkmen live.

A-list airtime on Denmark’s P6 & P4, with praise from Guardian, Noisey and Red Bull.

“Baggy janglers with a pop sheen and a miserablist attitude” – The Guardian

The timeless Danish shoegazers, Virgin Suicide, cruise back into town with the sun kissed and bittersweet new single ‘Burnout’, introducing the forthcoming second album on Nordic Music Society.

Following their acclaimed self-titled debut in 2015, the Copenhagen-based 5-piece have been busy supporting the likes of The Walkmen, Glasvegas and The Charlatans, and with this new offering make clear their intentions of raising the bar even higher. Emanating and oozing cool in a way few can do uncritically, they blend the perfect ratio of 60’s rock with an 80’s turtleneck style, topped off with a 90’s attitude.

The anticipated ‘Forever Trouble’ LP is expected in November this year and promises to deliver another sweet dose of their own unmistakable brand of ‘blood-soaked pop’. With previous support from the likes of Noisey, Guardian, and Red Bull under the belt, the outfit’s bold return already sounds big like Slowdive and warm like Ride, but reads like Suede with delivery akin to Sonic Youth.

Virgin Suicide pack a punch with their returning single ‘Burnout’, and their unintentionally stylish demeanor is a welcome return in 2017 – a year that looks set to be a momentous one for the baggy scandi janglers.
