Today, London four-piece daydreamers release their long-awaited debut album, Have You Tried Screaming? via Robots + Humans / Epic Records. Alongside the release, the band announced a UK headline tour for December, bringing the songs that have already fostered a devoted online community into venues across the country. Tickets on sale now here.

Across eleven soaring indie-pop songs, Have You Tried Screaming?transforms heartbreak, uncertainty and hope into something unexpectedly euphoric. Built on shimmering guitars, cinematic production and towering choruses, the album lives in the space between introspection and escapism, capturing the emotional chaos of modern life while offering something increasingly rare, genuine connection.

It’s a record about growing up, falling apart, finding your people and learning that vulnerability can be a strength rather than something to hide. Throughout, daydreamers embrace what frontman Riley calls “sad euphoria”, pairing deeply personal songwriting with melodies meant to be sung back by thousands of voices.

Riley muses more on the album release. “I love this album. It’s something I’m so proud of, and I can’t wait for everybody to hear it. Every song started as half an idea sitting in a SoundCloud playlist, written just to help me through whatever I was going through at the time. To be here now, releasing our debut album, feels surreal. These songs have been with me for so long and I still love every one of them, so I’m excited for everyone to finally hear what we’ve been building.”

Written in the wake of a life-changing breakup, the album finds frontman Riley reassessing his priorities while leaning on the unwavering support of bandmates Aurora, Jay and Marco. Together, the quartet embrace the tension between melancholy and euphoria, pairing huge choruses with inventive production that draws influence from artists like Djo, The Strokes and MGMTwithout ever losing sight of daydreamers’ own unmistakable identity.

The opening title track, ‘Have You Tried Screaming?’, immediately establishes the album’s emotional landscape. Part invitation, part rallying cry, it asks listeners not to suppress overwhelming feelings, but to embrace them, setting the tone for a collection that never shies away from life’s challenging moments.

The previous single, ‘Start Living’, has already become a defining moment in the band’s live set. Built around sunlit guitars, soaring melodies and quiet chaos, it captures the strange duality of modern existence: feeling overwhelmed by life while desperately wanting to embrace it. Riley explains, “I wrote ‘Start Living’ because I’d become exhausted by constantly trying to fix myself. It became a message to leave behind what wasn’t serving me anymore and actually enjoy life while it’s happening.”

Previous singles ‘I Expect Better’, ‘Good Intentions’ and ‘She Is A Time I’m Living In’ further showcase the emotional breadth of the record, moving effortlessly between quiet reflection and widescreen indie-pop catharsis. Throughout the album, daydreamers never lose sight of what makes them distinctive: songs that acknowledge darkness without ever surrendering to it.

That philosophy extends far beyond the music. Since emerging with their self-titled debut EP, daydreamers have grown into one of the UK’s most exciting new live bands, selling out headline shows, appearing at Reading & Leeds, Latitude, TRNSMT and The Great Escape, and sharing stages with Kings of Leon, Sea Girls and Pale Waves. Alongside their growing audience, they’ve built something even more meaningful: a community where fans connect through shared experiences, openness and the reassurance that none of us is navigating life entirely alone.

Following Big Dork Summer 100 Club London headline on July 16, daydreamers will be taking Have You Tried Screaming? on the road this December. More than just a series of shows, each night is set to become a celebration of the community the band have built around their music, giving fans the chance to experience these songs together exactly as they were intended: loud, emotional and surrounded by people who understand them.
