Following their triumphant 3 night residency at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire last week, Death Cab for Cutie have unveiled the official video for Ghosts Of Beverly Drive; taken from their critically acclaimed 8th studio album Kintsugi.
The video sees the band taking to the streets of L.A. as tour guides on one of the omnipresent celebrity ‘Star Tour’ buses. Bassist Nick Harmer had to say about the video:
“For every great thing about the city and the experience of living there, there is an offsetting negative that, for me, makes my feelings about L.A. a net zero in terms of personal connection,” he says. “The culture of celebrity tours feeds into this…it leaves me feeling cold and indifferent, and we wanted to make a video that captures that feeling of detachment.”
Death Cab will play Glastonbury Festival for the first time next weekend, playing the second from headline slot on the John Peel stage on Sunday night (28th June). They will also be returning to the UK in November of this year, playing a short UK headline tour including a night at London’s Brixton Academy on 4th November. Full dates below
