Deerhunter – ‘Timebends’ Single + Video Released Today
DEERHUNTER‘Timebends’12-Minute Single Released Today
On 12th September this year, Deerhunter of Atlanta, Georgia spent a night in New York recording ‘Timebends’, a 12-minute opus that is released digitally today. A separate entity to their eighth studio album Why Hasn’t Everything Already Disappeared? ‘Timebends’ is a partly improvised stream-of-consciousness outpouring. Recorded live direct to tape and in one take with minimal overdubs and mastered using a completely analogue signal chain, ‘Timebends’ recalls Deerhunter’s early avant-garde recordings and reaffirms their position as one of this generation’s most dynamic live acts.

“The best indie rock band in the US.” The Guardian“One of today’s great American bands… Some of Deerhunter’s prettiest songs to date.” Uncut 8/10“Their poppiest, most direct album yet.” Q ****“One of the great guitar bands of the 21st century, with a catalog full of wild highs, deep sorrows, searing rages, and precisely zero bad albums. Their eighth LP continues that streak.” Rolling Stone“Solid-gold tunes.” MOJO ****“This is how you turn pop into art.” NME ****
