“’Joel’ is a promising album teaser, doused in their signature bright surf-rock, nostalgia, and fuzz.”
Culture Collide
“New Jersey surf-rock quartet Dentist have precision and technicality that borders on math-rock, but they also know how to temper their musicality for deft variations of energy and aesthetic.” Stereogum
Dentist make beachy guitar music sound so good you’ll think it’s just as easy to play… It’s as good for you as, like, flossing.” Noisey
“[S]inger Emily Bornemann’s vocal melody floats on a coastal breeze…with the cleanliness of Justin Bornemann’s lead-guitar lines.” – FLOOD

With the warm weather and summer vibes in full swing, there’s a sense of freedom in the air – a feeling effortlessly encapsulated in Dentist’s new song, “Joel,” now streaming onCulture Collide. This fun, beachy track is an essential for driving top down with the sun in your face and the wind in your hair. The track starts off slowly, picks up rapidly and pumps out that feel-good vibe that Dentist carries through on their upcoming full-length,Ceilings, out June 24 via Little Dickman Records.
Products of the blossoming Asbury Park, New Jersey scene, these lively punk rockers combine a fuzzy garage band vibe with a beachy, traditionally west coast sound. Since the release of their self-titled debut album in 2014, Dentist has toured extensively throughout the Northeast and the South, and plan to do so more extensively this summer, picking up more fans and experiences along the way.
“Joel” is one of the many upbeat, freeing tracks to come on Ceilings. Says singer Emily Bornemann, “Life is a series of moments that you will never get back, so wasting energy on what other people’s opinions are of you is pointless.” Dentist will be touring in support of the upcoming LP, as well as playing two album release shows: one in their hometown of Asbury Park, New Jersey, and one in nearby New York City.
